    This moment, Sean Penn’s, and A. R. Rahman’s were my cheer moments of the night.

    Loved it. I’m especially glad that he spoke of the immense worth of queer people not being OUTSIDE of God but within God. “God loves you,” he said, and I believe that’s true–and the most radical claim he could make when the right wing religious draw the lines of sexual orientation on their idea of God. I’m glad that Black didn’t give up that ground.

    I was also moved at how Black wept as Sean Penn accepted his award–and made another strong statement for equal rights.
