Rush Limbaugh Wants to Know Why Women Hate Him

So after finding out that only 37% of women have a favorable view of him, while 56% of men also do, Rush decided to hold a summit to try to figure out where he’s going wrong with the ladies.

Oh why oh why might women not be huge fans?  I don’t know, but Think Progress has an idea or two:

– “She’s actually a very smart cat. She gets loved. She gets adoration. She gets petted. She gets fed. And she doesn’t have to do anything for it, which is why I say this cat’s taught me more about women, than anything my whole life.” [11/30/06]

– “He’s trying to figure out how he can get involved in the deal down there at Duke where the lacrosse team…supposedly, you know, raped, some, uh, hos.” [3/31/06]

– “You know, there’s a crisis of young man-boy education in the schools. And they did this on purpose, to eliminate male competition in the work force. This is part of feminazi grand plan.” [5/21/08]

– “Classic example of the castrati, the new castrati. Jack Carter is — has been castrated by the feminization of this culture since he grew up.” [2/21/06]

– “I just heard Erin Burnett sounding a little wifey. … Well [she was] whining.” [10/23/07]

And I could come up with many, many more if I only felt that Rush’s sorry ass was worth the waste of time.  For what it’s worth, the first day of Rush’s summit consisted of vile transphobia and whining about how all the women who he asked to call in and tell him what to change are telling him that he should change.

The very concept is good for a laugh, on the one hand.  On the other, I’m really just incredibly concerned that such high numbers of Americans have a favorable opinion of Rush Limbaugh.  Seriously?  Talk about a wake up call.

Oooh oooh! {waving hand wildly} I know this one!

    It’s because he’s a misogynistic asshat!

He could have just asked me and saved himself a bunch of money on that summit thingy.

I can haz consulting fee now?

I’m shocked that even 37% of women approve of him, after his utterance of this brilliant insightfulness during his “female summit:”

I own the men, and what must I do now to own women?

Damn dude, you wanna own somebody? I knew you had issues, but is it that deep?

    And some more:

One thing about the Female Summit: sorry, no transsexuals. We’re not going to have anybody who’s had an addadictomy, and we’re not going to have anybody who’s had a chopadickoffamy. We’re going to have women from birth.

Yes, that’s just what we women want Rush—for you to tell us who’s a real woman and who ain’t. What would we ever do without you?

Poor Rush! What does a bigot have to do to get love from the ladies?

  3. February 27, 2009 at 10:08 am

37 percent?! That seems absurdly high.

My mother is a Rush fan. In fact, she and her friends (i.e. churchgoers) take in everything he says. I guess you all have figured our I rarely talk to her.

This is a man who literally suggested that if Elizabeth Edwards spent more time sucking her husband’s cock than actually talking, he wouldn’t have cheated on her.

And he wonders why women hate him?

He doesn’t actually care why women don’t like him. He just wants them to call in so he can insult them and dismiss whatever they have to say for the entertainment of his woman-hating listeners.

The cross-tabs on the poll are strange: African-Americans only have a net 11 unfavorability (43 fav, 54 unfav) on Rush “Take The Bone Out of Your Nose” Limbaugh?

I think that PPP got the results by eliminating anyone who hasn’t heard of him (i.e. who would be instantly antipathetic towards him if they heard 10 seconds of his schtick).

In Rush’s world, any woman who disagrees with him politically is a feminazi. It must be nice to see things in such simple terms.

norbizness: That wouldn’t necessarily skew the results, since a lot of people (like me) have opinions about Limbaugh without ever listening to his program. Maybe PPP eliminated those who don’t tune in.

And what’s PPP stand for, anyway? Putzes Proudly Prattling?

    B. Scribe: More accurately, people who haven’t formed an opinion of him. Regardless of his general odiousness, I refuse to believe that he has astronomically high name recognition in the black community (95%).

I don’t know how they came up with these numbers but I don’t believe them.

If I told him why I don’t like him, I get the feeling that something isn’t going to go through. For instance, if I said “you are X because of Y,” I have this sneaking suspicion that he would hear “I’m a feminist, I hate men, blah blah blah, I honestly think you’re super awesome but because of my personal deep rooted entitlement issues born from my electra complex blah blah blah I must deny my hidden adoration. Oh. and I’m a baby killer, don’t actually listen to what I have to say because I’ll end up taking you down to hell with me.”

Let’s see, why do women hate Rush. Let me count the ways. 1. He played Obama the Magical Negro on his radio show. 2. He hopes Obama’s stimulus package fails. 3. He mocked the Portugese Water Dog as being un-American. To summerize, he hates hope, he hates America, and he hates puppies. That and he’s a racist misognist who talks about women and minorities having a sense of entitlement, yet feels that he, a white male from a prominent family, was successful all on his own.

Norbizness as a black woman I can you that in my wide cirlce of black friends (because my circle is very diverse) his name is recognized at over 90% and some of them are republican and do agree with some of his crap.

  14. February 27, 2009 at 2:08 pm

Ummmm . . . really? He can’t figure this out?

    No, really?

    How high is he?

“On the other, I’m really just incredibly concerned that such high numbers of Americans have a favorable opinion of Rush Limbaugh. Seriously?”

Who did this survey? I do not buy that that many people really view him favorably. It’s very easy to twist statistical data in order to suit one’s desired ends.

In the endless struggle to overcome your personal weaknesses and love your enemies and remember that even the absolute scum of the earth deserve a modicum of respect for the value of their humanity, there are some people with whom your best efforts come to nothing and you just have to avoid reading or listening to them because doing so forces you to become the kind of horrible person who thinks things like, “How old is he, anyway? Isn’t it about time he died?”

And you know, you feel bad about it, because that’s awful, but at the same time you’re tempted to give yourself a break — possibly even to say it out loud or post it to a public blog — because after all they started it, and hey, at least your hostility is reasonably based in a long history of provocation on their part, not on some pathetic perceived threat posed by those hateful bloodsucking whores/feminazi dyke bitches and their inexplicable lack of interest in your carefully crafted ham-fisted, knuckle-dragging, elementary-school-playground-bully personality — so really, who’s the guilty party here? You’re both only human. And at least you’re trying not to suck.

Not that I would ever be so unkind as to identify any of the specific people who might inspire those kinds of feelings, of course.

“…… you just have to avoid reading or listening to them because doing so forces you to become the kind of horrible person who thinks things like, “How old is he, anyway? Isn’t it about time he died?”

I’ll be that horrible person….Isn’t it about time he died? I don’t feel bad bout that shit, fuck Rush Limbaugh.

Don’t forget Rush’s account of why feminism evolved: “to give unattractive women access to power.”

I think that statement is even in one of his “books”…

It seems odd to me that so many people would still tune in to listen to a deaf man ranting.

“Don’t forget Rush’s account of why feminism evolved: “to give unattractive women access to power.” ”

My response to that would be, “And that’s a bad thing because…?”

Let’s see…I dislike being insulted, condescended to, belittled, mocked, and told that I’m an idiot and a feminazi (whatever the hell that is) on a regular basis. Also, Rush Limbaugh is a crass, tasteless, boorish know-nothing.

Other than that, no particular why I hate him.

I’m so gald there is an “I hate Rush” site. Here are my reasons – For anyone to wish the “new president fails” in my book is anti american. What asshole wishes this on his own country. He’s probably a Klan member. He spews hatred whenever he opens his mouth. And the fact that over 50% of men like him just goes to show that women are much smarter than men. What chumps, to think that Rush actually has something of value to say. Sad.

There is no frakking way that 56% of men have a favorable view of Limbaugh. That disgusting pukebag appeals to the group I refer to as The Twenty-Two Percenters — muddle-minded whiners and bigots standing and trembling on a shrinking island of white male supremacist fear and hatred as the tides of history sweep up around them.

Kai, so well said! I am so discouraged when I hear about so many people jumping on the bigot, sexist, knuckle-dragger band wagon. How, in this day and age, can people still be so close minded? I have some family members that I am sure love Rush because they are greedy, selfish, money grubbing men that wouldn’t give a dime to charity unless it was pried from their cold dead hands. I am most surprised when I run into a woman that loves Rush and what he stands for. Granted, these women are selfish, ignorant and greedy most of the time but they exist.

The really scary part is that there are so many Americans who not only don’t read and analyze what is going on for themselves but blindly follow someone who constantly takes words out of context and spews them like they are complete and undeniable facts.
The same insecurities that drove Rush to drug abuse drives him to act like a over inflated pompous ass because that is the only way he can get attention and try to cover up what we already know. He is a classic narcissistic psychopath who inside doubts his own worth.
He can’t hide his bigotry, his fear of minorities taking over the white man’s world, his hate of women and anyone that has an opinion that doesn’t agree with his.
He is a sad cigar smoking blob who’s vile hatred oozes out of every pore and he thinks we don’t see this??? Only the uneducated, those who can’t think for themselves or Republicans who can’t seem to find an intelligent leader would give credence to anything this man has to say.

Rush has a l o n g history of having unsuccessful relationships w/ women–so no wonder he recently stated that he does not “understand women.” Of course he doesn’t–he is too busy trying to sell his “hyper-masculinity” to older “white trash” males who are his “dittoheads.”

    March 12, 2009 at 11:40 pm

Plus, only a v e r y insecure male would continue to trash women such as he does. I imagine, off the radio, he is a “pussy-cat.” He reminds me of those men in jr. high and high school who were full of insecurities, but usually got over it by the time they became adult men. Instead, he is still afraid of women and take out his insecurities instead of growing up or getting therapy.

Rush inspires me to sin. Listening to his mocking, slurpy tone I rock back and forth saying F U over and over. He makes me swear real bad.

If you should stand Rush and our President side by side what come to mind? Contrast? A metaphor? Good and evil, clean and unwashed, broken and virile, bitter and hopeful, grotesque and glowing, boorish and amazing, manure and roses, reviled and revered, despicable and admireable? One could go on of course but you may entertain yourself for hours drawing these comparisons. Try it it’s fun and easy! Rush Limbaugh doesn’t deserve to breath the same air as comes out the south end of an ass. But, we need him. How else are we to appreciate the good we have if we didn’t have his low standard to compare it to.

Rush inspires my fantasies. I imagine myself injecting hydrochloric acid into his jugular, I imagine him having to spend eternity in Hell making out with Perez Hilton, I imagine gathering at a revival tent singing and rejoicing on his grave, I can see myself shoving a bazooka up his Hershey Highway. I do hope this gets put up on the blog and he gets to read this and know that I am not alone. There are legions of us who feel the same way. Stephen King could use him as a central character in a greusome novel. I myself could write a novel sized blog on this topic but alas I must put aside my gleeful telling. Is there anyone who feels any more loathing than me about this devil?

I agree with Angie – fuck that fat fuck – I hope he gets dick cancer. And if you do happen to read this Rush, no I am not an angry bitter man-hater. I am a well educated married veterinarian with 2 beautiful girls and lots of pets. My husband can’t stand you either, and I plan to make damn sure my girls associate your name with vile crass stupidity should they ever come across it.

I got a chuckle about the hating puppies bit from Nadia – didn’t Bush have a Scottie?? – a breed that originated from Scotland?? What a fucking idiot – I really do hope he gets dick cancer.
