“Unlike victims of sexual assault in the larger community, students victimized by other students often face additional challenges in a “closed” campus environment. For example, a victim may continue to live in danger if the perpetrator resides in the same dormitory or attends the same classes.”

How is this necessarily unlike victims of sexual assault in the larger community? A victim may be assaulted by their live-in partner, whether they live on campus or in the wider community.

I hope that creating a system of genuine prevention (vs. rape avoidance lectures directed at girls and women) becomes a real priority at the federal level. And by real priority, I mean actually funding this type of work.
