Tricky Dick: Abortion is bad because it encourages sexual permissiveness and breaks up the family, but it’s ok in really terrible circumstances. Like interracial pregnancy. Or, oh yeah, rape:

I made the mistake of reading the comments. Apparently we shouldn’t criticize Nixon because that point of view was normal at the time, and we haven’t seen Obama’s birth certificate (relevant how?), and Margaret Sanger shared Nixon’s views, proving that abortion is an abomination. Really? Really?
Ugh. That man was pure evil, with not a principled bone in his body. The only reason I don’t consider him a worse president than Dubya is that he was at least smart enough to end a useless, hopeless war, instead of starting one.
I worry at times that the rehab machine that the GOP ran so slickly on his behalf has worked too well, that in retrospect he comes off as not-so-bad. We need these reminders of his bigotry and his fundamental meanness.

Just to get some sort of discussion out of this hateful mentality of Nixon’s….
Should it be illegal to obtain an abortion solely because the child will be gay, a female, or mixed-ethnicity?
Considering that there’s no way to regulate that, I think it’s kind of a non-issue.
