Congratulations to Jessica and Andrew. It’s always lovely to see two brilliant, progressive, passionate people find each other. Wishing you all the joy in the world.
Now, does Andrew have a brother?

Hooray for age-disparate couples, though six years is only considered “disparate” if it’s an older woman and a younger man.
You know, as much as I am happy for Jessica (and I totally totally am!! Not to mention that dress is gorgeous!! – having serious femme envy here) … can I just say, as a lesbian woman, how nonetheless, it does feel like a kick to the stomach seeing our allies and fellow activists accessing an institution that is denied to so many of us (and, yes, we all have the ceremony available, but the institution is different from that).
I know that a lot of people have said this before me, and we’ve known for ages that this was happening, and I would never even consider for a second asking anyone, let alone Jessica, to not get married, and yes, maybe I am being a bit of a downer (ok, I am definitely being a downer) … but it still does feel like something that hurts.
As I said above, I am joyously wonderfully happy for Jessica and her partner, really (hell, I went through to the nytimes link just to enjoy the beautiful pics) … but yeah, that’s how I feel; a little gutted.
Sarah, I understand.
They’re so so so so cute. I call a brother, too.
