You’re all looking at this in completely the wrong way. You see, if gay couples are buried together, conservative assholes from eons past will roll over in their graves and all that graveyard activity will give innocent children nightmares. Thank you, RI governor, for standing against this and saying, “Not over my dead body.”

The fact is that Bobby and Taylor could be buried together and anyone not acquainted with them would have no idea what genders they identified as. Not that it matters, of course – legally sanctioned hate is abhorrent no matter what.

Because the rights of gay people should be voted on! Especially when it comes to something as personal, intimate, difficult, and fraught with emotions as funeral arrangements!

According to this governor, this bill “represents a disturbing trend over the past few years of the incremental erosion of the principles surrounding traditional marriage, which is not the preferred way to approach this issue.”

Yes, that’s exactly what this is. A bill that says “Let’s hurt straight people!” and not at all “Let’s make things easier for gay people!” I am so sick of this manipulation of the facts! Granting. Gays. Rights. Does. Not. Take. Them. Away. From. Heteros.

Not to mention that the bill has this: it adds ” ‘domestic partners’ to the list, in current law, of people who can legally make arrangements for a deceased person’s funeral, cremation or burial to include domestic partners if the deceased person left no pre-arranged funeral contract.”

You know, that really does sound like “shits all over traditional marriage.” *facepalm*
