Joe Addabbo is the New York State Senator who represents Howard Beach. He’s a Democrat who was endorsed by the New York State Pride Agenda. His campaign was funded by progressive New Yorkers — pro-choice, pro-marriage-equality voters.

And he was one of eight “no” votes against marriage equality.

Call his district office at718-738-1111, or his Albany office at 518-455-2322 and let him know that a moral vote is a vote in favor of human rights and equality. New Yorkers — and especially New York Democrats — support marriage equality and will donate to any progressive Democrat who challenges him come reelection time.

blerg! yet another good reason for progressives to Vote Green, and for progressive activist organizations of all kinds (peace, feminist, LGBT, environmental, civil rights/progressive people of color, etc) to endorse and support Green Party candidates and other alternatives to the Demublicans and Republicrats, who seem to do nothing at best to advance progressive causes, or actively work against progressive causes at worst. Just my opinion, but i am way beyond tired of the two major parties.

I know it wouldn’t actually WORK, but if I were a New Yorker and donated money to his campaign I’d be calling and asking for my campaign contribution to be refunded, on the basis that he solicited it under false pretenses.

Not so much to get the money back, but to attempt to convey to him what a monstrous douche he’s being. And it’d probably embarrass him if a whole bunch of his constituents did that and it made the news of some kind. Make reelection campaigning interesting when his opponent could point out that he’s a liar who takes campaign money from people and screws them over.

*daydreams about it*

WHAT? WHAT? My jaw is on the floor. That is so incredibly WRONG. What a huge slap in the face to everyone who voted for him.
