Boycott American Women

I know I shouldn’t direct traffic to terrible things, but this appeared in our comment section a few days ago, and damn: I have no idea why any woman wouldn’t want to date the winners who write for this site.

Ugh.. i got through about three of them before I had to stop. A whole site of ‘nice guys’ (ie., mysogynists in disguise, guys who blame women for all of their personal ills “I’m such a nice guy, why can’t I find a nice girl.. they’re all bitches etc”)

The nose he’s just sliced off to spite his face must be painful.

Many American women cheat on their partners (yes, American men do too, but I know the real statistics and women are almost just as bad).

This is a reason to boycott American women? They’re almost as unfaithful as American men?

  5. December 27, 2010 at 1:05 pm

I applaud them for doing American women a great service. I only hope they can get around to boycotting women elsewhere in the world as well. It will save everyone a lot of time.

More important: Why should I give a shit about what this guy “boycotts”?

Okay, I really do love this: “Independence and strong will (outspokenness) are one possible factor why people boycott American women.” Clearly, self-sufficiency and opinions are just a drag.

I’m with Jadey. This ‘boycott’ (because, of course, women are products made for male consumers) is a win-win- They don’t have to put up with “total whores and bitches” who “only care about their next orgasm,” and in turn remove themselves from the gene pool. I support this movement 100%.

  11. December 27, 2010 at 2:27 pm

The funny thing is, they seem so proud of the fact that they have 4 people boycotting American Women. I’m guessing that they’re all friends or something. Well, fellow women, the odds are now much higher that you will not date a douche.

  13. December 27, 2010 at 2:55 pm

So he wants to boycott American women? Are we supposed to be upset of over this?

My. As a non-American woman, I believe these people should extend their boycott. Please.

  15. December 27, 2010 at 3:21 pm

Anyway, women in America are basically total whores and bitches

That line (ending a long diatribe of all the usual talking points with these kind of guys) would have made me spit out my drink if I hadn’t finished it just seconds before. Thanks for the laugh douchebag!

I’d like to ask these men what “respect for a man” means in their language. If a woman accepts the fact men have the same rights as women, I think she respect men. And most women do accept that. What else do these men need? If poverty, washed brains because a patriarchal education are considered attractive, I don’t want to be attractive, although I am European.
I have to disappoint these men, they have to boycott most western women. At least in Europe, the most important difference between the women from here and from America is that European women drink a better coffee. It’s an interesting experience, I guarantee.

I think that calling what these guys are doing anything but abject misogyny is folly. These aren’t the ignorant, “I’m a nice guy. So, why don’t women want to take care of my boners?” kind of misogynist; these are the deliberate, “uppity women should take off their shoes and get in the kitchen because that’s how best to serve my needs” kinds of misogynists. I’m really glad that they’ve thought up a really original solution to a problem that really doesn’t exist: They should be applauded – fucking only those women who don’t offend their misogynist mores is absolute genius. Wait a minute. . .

I also think at least one of them is fake…Frank refers to his comrades as “soldiers” and he’s supposedly a Marine…this would NEVER happen! (The site refers to him as a “soldier” as well.) Marines are not “soldiers” nor would they not correct a mistake like that. Probably some college kids’ prank.

Actually, I only have one real complaint about the blog:

They haven’t posted any pictures of themselves to simplify identifying them so I can respect their… uhm… ‘boycott.’

Seriously, I don’t think it’s a boycott if you weren’t getting any in the first place.

  31. December 27, 2010 at 8:09 pm

I’m with Cheshire and teacosy. Can these douchenozzles please extend their boycott to everybody who isn’t them? That’d be great. Then maybe they can circle-jerk themselves to exhaustion and we can be done with them.

  34. AJB
    December 27, 2010 at 11:33 pm

The commenters here who are saying “why should I care” or “please extend the boycott” need to think about why this is disturbing: these men are talking about taking “importing” poor women from Eastern Europe and East Asia and with the intent of exploiting the power disparities in immigration status and gender relations to their advantage. Read some stories from former “mail-order brides” (apologies if the term is offensive) or human trafficking victims.

  35. December 28, 2010 at 12:00 am

@AJB you are of course right, and we should do what we can support immergrent women in our community who may be particularly venerable to abuse. However I still I feel that moking these idiots will not harm them.

  36. December 28, 2010 at 12:28 am

I agree with AJB #34, because this is just so skeezy and I’m tired of these excuses being used to ‘import’ East Asian/Southeast Asian women into the homes of misogynists.

“these men are talking about taking “importing” poor women from Eastern Europe and East Asia from Eastern Europe and East Asia and with the intent of exploiting the power disparities in immigration status and gender relations to their advantage.”

They are? I must have missed that part.

Although one can’t be sure of any of these men’s intentions, it still isn’t quite evident that they are looking to take advantage of or exploit what you’re calling “poor” women. And it doesn’t automatically follow that a woman who values a patriarchal system/culture must also be of the “mail-order bride” persuasion. The problem these American-women-hating bloggers have is that most of the women they would prefer probably have no interest in them. In my experience, American men have as bad an image with the soft-spoken, humble, foreign women as American women apparently have with the men in this blog.

    @AJB —

    Hell. Effen. Yeah.

I always get a thrill of schadenfreude when I hear some sleazy pig whining about how venal their perfect submissive girlfriend ended up being. Welcome to humanity, bro. You thought she wasn’t looking out for #1 just like the rest of us? You deserve your heartbreak and financial ruin, fool.

No pity here. I’ve seen too much for that.

  39. Ada
    December 28, 2010 at 8:17 am

Colonialism much? Yeah, American women suck, so let’s import women who don’t have the same economic strength, and maybe they’ll be more submissive.
This reminds me of the few times I’ve had strangers come to me, apparently because I looked so “exotic,” and insisting on knowing where I was from. Reminds me of the middle school boyfriend who said he liked me because I “looked mixed.” I’ve always been uncomfortable with men explicitly rejecting white women because they feel white women have become too equal to them to tolerate their bullshit (I’m not saying American women, as I’m French, and I could very well imagine a similar blog about French women). Giving a preference to “exotic” women is not only racist in thought, it’s also admitting to be willing to “exploit the power disparities,” as AJB said, in order to get what you want.

Also, as a non-American woman, I’ll join teacosy in asking for an extension of the boycott.

  40. December 28, 2010 at 8:25 am

I think these guys should extend the boycott 100% and date each other.

  41. December 28, 2010 at 9:47 am

Oh Mark is just too precious!

“many foreign women … don’t WANT an equal partnership.” Very telling of what he’s looking for in a “partner”.

“I don’t even care what country she’s from or if we speak a mutual language. In fact, I’d probably be happier with her if we couldn’t even understand each other” ……. yeah I got nothing on this one.

  42. December 28, 2010 at 11:09 am

Courthouse News Service, 25 May 2010:

Two Northern California men subjected a Russian woman and her daughter to backbreaking forced labor, assault and psychological abuse for 7 months after luring them to the United States with promises of joining a loving family, the women claim in Federal Court.

Elizabeth Shuvalova claims Joseph Cunningham, of Clearlake, Calif., spent 2 years “wooing” her after they met through the online dating Web site eHarmony. She claims Cunningham made two trips to Poland to see her. Cunningham promised Elizabeth that she and her then-16-year-old daughter Natalya would join a loving and supporting family if she agreed to marry him.

Here’s a PDF of the lawsuit.

Please keep in mind I have no problem with dating foreigners per se. The problem is that the immigration status issues make issues of consent and such more complex. There’s also the fact that undocumented women in such situation might be afraid to call the authorities on abusers for fear of being detained or deported.

But abstaining from your demands clearly means my response is unintelligent, right?? PS, I like how you conflated my “accusation” (I prefer “observation”) that you’re upset with an “accusation” (“observation”) that you’re being overly-emotional. Those are totally the same.

Oooohhh WHY!??? Why can’t I be less Mer-uh-kan!!!??? I really wanted to be a wife to my “real” dream man– mid-40’s and divorced and not a small peepee too! “Giving a preference to “exotic” women is not only racist in thought, it’s also admitting to be willing to “exploit the power disparities,” as AJB said, in order to get what you want.”

I agree, this is not necessarily true. It is entirely possible for someone to simply be attracted to certain features (e.g., hair and eye colors and facial shapes) that tend to correlate with specific races.

That said, in the cultural context of this dialogue, the exemplar of the “exotic” woman and the patriarchal, misogynistic motivations of the authors on the blog are inextricable. To think otherwise is to deny a very powerful psychological truth.

I caught that too, my partner is a former Marine and has in fact corrected people who refer to him as a “soldier.” He’s not an asshole about it but will speak up politely, and would never refer to himself as a “soldier.” It comes up a lot, actually, as he saw combat and is now a pacifist and peace activist, but still holds that point of pride.

The sad thing, though, is that even if it is a troll, there are men out there like that. I’ve met a few here and there and it is sickening. They don’t want partners, they want slaves.

    Yes.

I get a lot of attention from guys like this, being Slavic. Because I’m a lucky gal, I tend to be better educated and more successful than most of them, which is something that never fails to shock them and, in some cases, piss them off. A woman who does not conform to their narrow (and highly prejudiced) expectations is usually perceived as a threat to the very stability of the universe.

I was actually stalked by a guy like this, both in RL and on my blog, last year. He worked in Moscow and made frequent trips to Kiev, where I was staying at the time, and would “accidentally” run into me after finding out where I’m likely to be via a couple of gullible mutual friends. Here he is in all his glory, btw.

I do prefer to laugh at these people, though some of them are indeed creepy stalkers – and much worse.

Frankly, I think American women are better off without these smug, lazy, self-centered sons of selfishness. They’re not smart enough to make it worth talking to them.

Mostly just “marine,” or if they’re speaking generally of people in all branches of the military, “servicemen” or something of that ilk. Like if he’s speaking generally and doesn’t want to get bogged down in details of his time in the military, he won’t ever say, “I was a soldier” or “my fellow soldiers” but rather “I was in the service/served my country,” or “my fellow servicemen.” He personally tries to avoid gendered language but it can be hard as the military isn’t exactly a bastion of feminist thought.

What is this boycott of? What company?? Ones ran by American women? What is so wrong with them? I haven’t noticed. Why are the guys bitter? I am single and I am not sad or bitter, why do peple tell me “you will be happyer if you are dating”? It does not make sense to me. I am happy to just play by myself in the garden, I don’t need to go to protest or boycott, unless it is a unfair company like Sony or something but isn’t Sony ran by mostly Japanese men? *sigh* sorry I don’t understand things. Thank you for letting me make this comment if it is posted. Signed Tiger Max.

Thirding what evil fizz and Tamora have said, I don’t get this objection some men have to women being self-sufficient. Some of them will say it outright and say that they don’t want women who don’t need them.

I always make the point that if a woman doesn’t need a man either financially or for emotional stability, men should prefer that because it means that the woman is with you because she really, really likes you, which is pretty cool. For whatever reason, this doesn’t tend to convince those sorts. I don’t get it.

    “American women….are highly unchaste.”

Who are they fucking then? Athenia

…uh, each other, maybe? Once we learn parthenogenesis we’ll be all set to do away with American Men (TM) entirely, like that one kind of lizard. :D

Wow, there’s more of these idiots out there. I found another one of these sites! American Women Suck. I can’t believe it. *facepalm* What a “nice guy”.

Tamora Pierce: Frankly, I think American women are better off without these smug, lazy, self-centered sons of selfishness. They’re not smart enough to make it worth talking to them. These idiots actually think the appearance of subservience is the actuality, not protective coloration. You can’t keep a woman in a bell jar forever, and unlike these men, those women *will* learn.

It’s not necessarily a matter of women learning; the Indian, Filipina, Malaysian and Sri Lankan women I know can all teach me a thing or two about assertiveness. The idea of the submissive “oriental” woman is just that, an idea, nurtured in the overheated brains of privileged men. If they hooked up with some of the women I know they wouldn’t know what hit them – assuming that those women would have anything to do with those losers in the first place, which I think is unlikely!

Re: the Marine thing – I heard once that a high percentage of those who claim to be Marines never were. Or, conversely, that the claim of being a Marine is particularly attractive to those who need an ego boost. Not at ALL to suggest that those who have posted here don’t know real Marines- just suggesting that the guy in the OP could really be a douchecanoe but NOT actually a Marine, at the same time. Not being a marine does not mean he is just a troll. If that makes sense?

There is a school of thought in MRA land, which says that this particular blog is actually the work of a feminist prankster/provocateur. I thought it might interest some of you to hear that.

This guy has been spamming male sites with his link as well, and he was just as mocked and made fun of for doing it.

Dude’s too late. I boycotted men like this a LONG time ago. People ask me why I never had much of an interest in American men and why being Slavic was like catnip to me. I can now direct them to this blog and not have to say anything more.

My Ukrainian husband loves guys like this. I read their blog, i realize just how awesome he is and spoil him. So, thanks, randome douchebag blogger. You made a real man very happy.

The complaints on that site pretty consistently describe American Women as greedy, selfish, materialistic, arrogant, self-centered, obese, loud mouthed, entitled, pushy, etc. Which is interesting, because those are also the traits ascribed to “the ugly American” stereotype. Maybe the real issue here isn’t with the “Women” part of “American Women”, but rather with the “American” element.
