Oh man, I am going to put a serious damper on things now, but my favorite zoo animal OF ALL TIME has passed on. Currently, I am in a state of shock and denial. He was only four years old! How could this have happened?! I need to go now, but look at this little guy OMG he was so cute :-( :-( :-(

    I waited in line for TWO HOURS at Zoologischer Garten to see Knut, and that diva Eisbär refused to show his adorable self. I forgive him, of course. RIP, du Bärchen.

    So sad how that guy who took care of Knut died an early death – and now Knut has died an early death and it’s just, well, unfortunate. And sad. Did I mention sad? Because it is.

    Stephen Colbert, on the other hand, has made me a happy.

    It’s really sad that Sen. John Kyl murdered Knut in his adorable polar bear sleep, just like he plans to murder all the kittens in the world next month.* :(

If you haven’t seen them already (they’re pretty old and I just discovered them because I normally don’t watch collegehumor) collegehumor has a couple of videos about the unbelievable harassment and crude hostility faced by girl gamers from boys–in which they reverse the roles to show a scenario in which men would have to deal with this kind harassment from women. They are kind of hilarious.

    *Disclaimer: By no means do I believe women harassing men is any kind of solution. But if you know what it’s like to be a girl gamer (I’m actually not a girl gamer but my friends are and I’ve seen the shit they go through) you’ll understand the sentiment.

    I can’t bring back Knut, but maybe Mr Shuffles could help fill the void. He’s a baby elephant (well, teenager now I guess) who was diagnosed dead in utero but came out alive against all expectations. He’s very cute and has his own blog & twitter account.
