Jadey, you might need a trigger warning for paddlers. I went to look at the cute baby hippos and I got half way down and saw THE LAST THING KAYAKERS ON THE ZAMBEZI SEE BEFORE THEY DIE. It’s captioned “Hippo eating water,” but , um, no. It’s Hippo Threat Display Oh Shit It’s Charging!
(For those who don’t know, hippos kill more humans than perhaps any other wildlife in Africa, though certainty is hard to come by because of the difficulty in accurately documenting wilderness attacks)

I don’t have a cute picture to go with it, but this weekend I visited a friend and totally wanted to steal her cat because he was AWESOME. He plays FETCH. Like a dog. Throw the ball, he chases it, brings it back in his little teeth and drops it at your feet.

@ Jane – That was before we adopted him, so I’m not precisely sure what was going on, but I think he’d just gotten a bath. That’s what he looks like soaking wet. Here he is dry.
