Certainly whoever did this is depraved, cruel, and dangerous. I hope that law enforcement is taking this incredibly seriously, and that they find the culpable person.

Yesterday, when I read this on another blog, one of my elderly cats was getting very upset about the thunder outside, and between that and the article, I just had to drop everything and hug her for quite a while.

I don’t even want to imagine the kind of person who did that to that poor cat, and to the poor child who was the cat’s human.

Right wing terrorism? What right wing terrorism? Nothing to see here.

These aren’t the droids we’re looking for. Move along.

This is so fucking awful. I just keep thinking that my cat would’ve gone right up to someone for a scratch behind the ears and if this cat was a children’s pet it probably would have, too. That poor thing. Those poor kids.

    What a sick, sick fuck.

It’s kinda positive that he is willing to rationally assume that the opposing party didn’t execute or condone the attack. I figure most politicians would have used a similar event as an excuse to attack the character of the other side. Rather big of him not to yes?

I opened a link and I saw the picture of the poor cat — I was so outraged and so angry it too me a while to calm down.

4chan needs to get on the case. They found that gal in Russia who taped herself throwing a bag of kittens in a lake several years back.

Hope this backfires all over the neocons. Too many people have expressed a desire to do the same to Obama, Michelle, Sasha, and Malia.

Unfortunately, we seem to have a lot of the “worst of humanity” in Arkansas. They can be very hateful and whipped into a frenzy by their tea parties. They seem to have no compassion for anyone or anything except protecting the 1 percent.

I’ve read about a lot of really really sick stuff, but this rattles me. Killing and mulitilating an innocent animal, a child’s pet honestly makes me want to throw up. This person needs to be put in jail for a long long time.

This breaks my heart (I have a sweet and friendly siamese mix cat). It also pisses me off to no end that someone would be so selfish and evil as to kill and mutilate a child’s pet in order to intimidate a politician. Disgusting. The worst of humanity, indeed. I’m with the above poster that someone ought to get 4chan to search out whoever did this. He must be seriously disturbed, and the authorities and the public should know his name.

Also: Burris’ response strikes me as incredibly moderate and even-tempered, considering the gravity of what happened; pets become part of the family, especially when children are involved. I may be a Quaker and a pacifist, but if anyone deliberately caused harm to my pets, God help them. My fury would likely become stronger than my faith.
