Because of the intense storm bearing down on the East Coast, I am stuck in San Francisco for an indefinite period of time — fingers crossed I’m back in NY on Wednesday, but unclear. Wah wah, stuck in an amazing city, I know. Very few complaints, but modding is going to be slow, since my internet access is not very consistent. Thanks for your patience! And stay safe, East Coasters.

You knew and got out, didn’t you? Sneaky, sneaky Jill.
(this is a joke)
This is what happens when your country has a functional weather service that hasn’t been completely defunded by far-right extremists. Feminism survives. :-p
Stay safe, Jill.
Jill doesn’t have to worry; it’s those of actually in New York City who have to batten down the hatches so we don’t end up with Margaret Hamilton riding a bicycle in the air outside our windows.
Oh, I read it wrong then. Yay, reading in a hurry. >.<
You stay safe, too. I'm not the praying type, but I'm sending my best wishes that direction.
if you want any suggestions for activities while trapped in SF, just holler!
Well it looks like I am now here for several more days, so yes, suggestions welcome!
If you’re still in town come Thursday – http://www.calacademy.org/events/nightlife/
I’d go check out The Tourist Club if you’re still here on Sunday.
Also restaurants:
Potsticker (in C-town)
Sichuan Home (Richmond)
Humphry Slocombe
La Taqueria
Check out the murals on the women’s building, 18th and Valencia.
Lots of other stuff but am blanking on it now. For fun walks, check out the Sutro Forest and Mt. Davidson.
Are we going to have a self-promotion Sunday (or Monday) around here? Shouldn’t we tell Sandy that we’re not going to be shut down?
Otherwise, the terrorist hurricanes will have won.
Take care of yourself, Jill.
Jill is apparently out in The Mission, enjoying a little riot.
True fact.
I was at home watching the game, and thinking to myself, “why am I not out somewhere watching this?” and then I saw your tweets, and was like, “Oh yeah! That’s why! Duh.”
Uh, riot? STORY TIME.
“Riot” is a little exaggerated. It was a bunch of people lighting shit on fire on the street, tagging buildings and throwing bottles at cops. Not exactly a riot, but also not exactly a harmless celebration of a sporting event.
Any excuse to throw stuff at cops, probably by some kids from the suburbs. Every time something like that happens around here, and the data for the arrests is released, the majority of those arrested live at least 20 miles away.
Yeah, it was pretty wild. Davey D has an article and some pics (including one of mine) here.
lol like 3 or so fires and some loud noise till 2 am, pfft some riot ;)
A friend of mine is currently in San Francisco.. I think it would completely bizarre and hilarious if you ran into him somehow.
But, alas, I imagine it’s a rather large city.
not really compared to other large cities in the US
Shockingly too small for me and a couple of my exes. Why can’t they just move to Texas, or something.
The nice thing about never having been on a date is avoiding pretty much 100% of the SF / south bay drama ;)
Thought I’d share this pic I took the morning after Sandy…
