Yesterday was the fifth anniversary of the assassination of Dr. George Tiller by an anti-abortion extremist. Dr. Tiller was admired for his willingness to help when no one else would, and as an advocate for the agency and autonomy of pregnant people. Read about his legacy and why Dr. Tiller’s work was so controversial. We remember him for the safe, compassionate care he provided his patients.

My best friend and I are spending the summer on a bike tour. Right now we are cycling the San Juan islands and Olympic peninsula. Neither of us owned a bike or camping gear before this trip. Follow our antics on our blog radicaltransformationtour.tumblr.com

I wrote about romantic rejection, gendered blame, and narratives we need to change. I also put together a roundup of writing about the Isla Vista shootings/#YesAllWomen, with some pictures of golden retriever comfort dogs to break up the horribleness.

Fantasy And The Unthinkable Self. My sexual fantasies posed a strange problem: I wasn’t in them.

Adjusting To A Partner’s Gender Transition. My fiancée Alma responds to a reader’s question.

Why Pass? Can you imagine how freaked out most cis men would be if they thought being read as female were a serious possibility?

I’ve found that when MRAs whine about feminism the real problem turns out to be patriarchy. Same with MRA, Elliot Roger:

Elliott Roger Blames Women For Patriarchy’s Problems

And, the porn industry may not be full of brilliant marketing strategists. But whether deliberate or not, creating male tastes for things that an awful lot of women don’t like is bound to increase sales, as porn becomes the only place you can get it.

Time to get rid of “man up” Secretary of State John Kerry used this inane, macho phrase when talking about Edward Snowden last week. It’s time for all of us to get this phrase, and its implications about masculinity and femininity, out of our vocabulary.

I have an op-ed on Huffington Post today about Colorado’s new revenge porn statute. I coauthored the piece with two other law professors at the University of Denver, Ian Farrell and Justin Pidot. Drawing on our expertise in constitutional and/or criminal law, we argue that the statute is constitutional and good public policy.

PS. I love this weekly thread. I always find great things here that I probably wouldn’t otherwise. Thank you for providing this forum!

Posting for a good friend with a good new blog, “Trolling the Patriarchy,” where she chronicles her purposeful misadventures in tindering.

The bio for the blog reads,

    “If you can’t smash it,
    then troll the patriarchy.

trolling tinder boys who want to hit it.”

    A trollolercoaster of a ride.

Apologies, but three of the links I mentioned above don’t work any more because I changed the date on the posts so they would show up in a different order in my list of posts, and that automatically changed their URLs. Here are the new links for the bingo cards:

    Conversation-Win Bingo Card

    Sorry for the confusion.
